How to Make a Burlap Wreath

I immediately went to Michaels for my supplies and started on it. Here’s what you need:

18” Wire wreath form – $3

Burlap Garland – $3ea (with 40% off coupon) x 3= $9

Floral wire – $1.99

Fake Flowers. – $1.50 I ended up using ones different from the picture.

Laura used 1 roll of Burlap Garland, but I made mine a little tighter and fuller. I used 2 1/2 rolls.

1. I threaded the floral wire through the burlap and attached it to the wire frame. That keeps the first piece steady so that you’re not pulling it out.

2. Start pulling loops through each of the rungs of the wreath.

3. Be sure to vary the order of your loops the direction and the size. That gives

it a more “ruffled” appearance. You can also twist and tuck them at the end. That’s one of the benefits of burlap. It has a very wiry texture that kind of stays where you put it.

4. This is after the first roll of burlap. I used the floral wire to attach the end the same way I started it so that it wouldn’t unruffle itself. I know unruffle isn’t a word, but you know what I mean.

5. I think it’s pretty as is or you can add embellishments.

I love Laura’s version with flowers, a moss bunny and the nest with eggs:

I added some white flowers and a simple white ribbon.

I love it! Plus, I can easily change it up with the seasons. if you made one, I’d love to see the variations on it!
