The video has been linked up on MPACT's Web site,

MPACT has posted this notice on their Facebook page today:

"Don't miss a BRAND NEW episode of "Only in Monroe" premiering tonight AT MIDNIGHT! Re-airing tomorrow at 7:30 a.m. 3 p.m. and again at 9:30 p.m."

Funnyman Stephen Colbert, who will succeed David Letterman as host of “The Late Show,” was in Monroe for a burger and a beer.

Donald Bozynski, owner of Larson’s Bar on S. Telegraph Rd. was home with his wife, Brooke, and their kids Monday night when he kept getting messages that Mr. Colbert and his crew were inside the bar.

“I didn’t believe it either,” Mr. Bozynski said. “Nobody ends up in Monroe without something going on.”

So the couple called for a sitter and went to the bar. And, sure enough, there was Mr. Colbert along with a crew

of about 10, including writers, producers and directors, hanging out. Some wore New York Mets hats.

Mr. Bozynski said the comedian was directed to Larson’s after he stopped for gas and asked for a place to eat. He said Mr. Colbert told them that they will discover why he was in Monroe in the next day or so. He got the impression that Mr. Colbert was preparing for “The Late Show,” which is scheduled to debut on Sept. 8.

“Why would he be in Monroe?” Mr. Bozynski said. “I guess he was just laying low.”

Mr. Bozynski and his wife both described the former host of “The Colbert Report” as a friendly person, who freely took photos and hung out in the bar for about two hours. They all enjoyed their meals.

“He was nice to everybody,” Mr. Bozynski said. “He was just a happy guy, hanging out, having a good time. He was a real good guy.”

Mr. Bozynski said he is certain it was Mr. Colbert.

“I’m 100 percent certain,” he said. “It was him.”
