Investment products available through the COMMAND and Investor accounts include Mutual Funds, Certificates of Deposit (CDs), 2 Unit Investment Trusts (UITs), Exchange-Traded Funds (ETFs), 3 Stocks, 3 and Bonds. 3 CDs are issued by various outside financial institutions and are insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) up to $250,000 principal and accrued interest combined, per depositor (investor), per depository institution (issuer), for all deposits held in the same insurable capacity. If you purchase a CD, you should generally do so with the intention of holding it until maturity. Generally, CDs should not be withdrawn prior to maturity since penalties will be applied.
