How To Pick The Winner Of The 2015 Melbourne Cup

how to bet on melbourne cup

Hello and welcome to

My name is Max Hitchins. I am known as MelbourneCupMax and/or Mr Melbourne Cup probably because I have memorised the 1st, 2nd and 3rd placegetters of the Melbourne Cup for the last 100 years. (Click on the picture on the right to see David Koch. from Channel 7 Sunrise Show and racing expert Richard Freedman. test me on this.)

My search for the winner of the 2015 Melbourne Cup began the day after the 2014 Melbourne Cup. I look for and collect snippets of information from all around. Knowing as much as I possibly can about the runners in the Melbourne Cup allows me to 'break down the field' from 24 horses to 6 horses. I then suggest that one of these horses will win the Cup. This system has worked for 24 out of the last 27 years. I then select 'my winner' out of the 6 horses. I have now been correct with this selection for 15 out of the last 27 Melbourne Cups.

If you choose to order my annual eBook you receive :

(a) An eBook with all my research in it including video's of races from all around the world that feature the horses that may run in the 2015 Melbourne Cup. Note: You will receive this eBook no later than four days after after the running of the 2015 Caulfield Cup on Saturday the 24th of October 2015. However, you can pre-order the eBook NOW and receive a bonus for doing so.

( b) Access to the password protected page for Members Only where I post my system horses on Melbourne Cup Day morning.

(c) Email information during the month of October about the Australian lead up races as we count down to the Cup on Tuesday the 3rd of November 2015.

(d) If you purchase a copy of How To Pick The Winner Of The 2015 Melbourne Cup before 6.00pm Australian Eastern Standard Daylight Saving Time you are automatically given a free entry into or Melbourne Cup Sweep. Click on the picture on the right to meet the winner of the 2014 Melbourne Cup Sweep when he drew Protectionist. Note: You are not guaranteed to draw a horse in this sweep as there are only 24 runners in the Cup.

Stop Press #1: 2014 Cup Results.

2014 Melbourne Cup Placings:

1. Protectionist 2. Red Cadeaux 3. Who Shot TheBarman

4. Signoff 4. Willing Foe 5. Precedence

Happily I tell 'my system' worked again as three of my selected horses ran 1st, 3rd and 4th. That means my system has now worked for 24 out of the last 27 years. Tragically the Japanese horse Admire Rakti apparently broke down during the race and died when it returned to its stall. At the turn, just before he dropped out of the race, I thought he was going to win by 5 lengths.

Below is part of the the note I wrote for the buyers of the eBook "How To Pick The Winner of the 2014 Melbourne Cup." It was posted, on Melbourne Cup morning, on the password protected page especially for these buyer of the the eBook.

If you have read my web page and read

“How To Pick The Winner Of The 2014 Melbourne Cup” you will know my system is to break the choice down from a Melbourne Cup field of 24 horses to my field of 6 horses that I regard as having the best chance to win the Cup. BTW. that is now 23 horses as Sea Moon has been scratched.

If you are a long term buyer of the eBook you will know this system has worked for me now for 23 out of the last 26 years. (Now it is 24 out of 27) You will also know that I then make my selection of the winner from these six. I have been correct in this assessment for 15 out of the 26 years. (Now it is 15 out of 27).

My suggestion has always been to have a few dollars each way on the six horses and you will then be able to say “I backed the winner of the Cup.” I am certainly not an advocate of betting outside what you can afford.

These are the six horses for the 2014 Melbourne Cup:

Admire Ratki #1

Fawkner #3

Protectionist #5

WhoShotTheBarman #12

Lucia Valentina #22

Signoff #24

My top 3 are: #1Admire Ratki; #22 Lucia Valentina; #5 Protectionist

My top 1 is: #1Admire Ratki.

G’day Max

Congratulations on the 2014 Cup result – you have done it again. Having looked at the final field with a multitude of international entries one can only imagine the research that you have undertaken and once again you have reaped the reward. Congratulations and thank you Dennis Kelly. Lismore.

Hi Max

Thanks max for the early tip mate…. I backed Protectionist whilst i was holidaying in Vietnam. Actually I was having a few beers on a boat sailing around Ha Long Bay when I saw your email. I had a look at Protectionists form and I couldn’t fault it. I Backed the horse with sporting-bet at $17. Plus i got the first four trifecta for 25%. So it was a very profitable day. Thank you very much for the early tip. Nice one mate. Billy Picone - Moree NSW

Hello Max

Thanks once again. I have been following your Melbourne cup tip for the last 5 years. I have my own system that I use for betting and match your rankings. You had mentioned about Protectionist in your email few weeks ago prior to Herbert Power stakes and there was no looking back from him.

Nitish Gawde - Sydney.

Thank you Max! I went through the field for my listeners and told them that following your system the four horses to look seriously at were Protectionist, Signoff, Mutual Regard and Who Shot the Barman so yes you came through again! I put a few dollars on both Protectionist and Signoff, so I’m a happy girl, and all the happier for having had a few minutes with you ; )

Talk again in 2015 I hope. Regards Jacquie Mackay Breakfast Presenter, ABC Capricornia

"Thank you Max. I am a long time subscriber. Over the years you have provided us with six chances each year for the Melbourne Cup. For most of those years you have then culled the selections down to your top three. However, in a year considered to have been the best ever field in 152 years and after missing the winner last year, you clearly embraced the concept of “the best form of defence is attack”.

"To have had the courage to go with your deliberations and then isolate a single horse - Fiorente - as your selection in such a year is “putting your balls on the line.” And added to that four of you horses ran in the first six places. You really do your homework. I dips my lid to you Sir! I offer my heartiest congratulations – what a feat. If you were downcast after 2012 – you are back in a big big way."

"Hey Max. For three years now I've been following your advice and today sees me with another fistful of winning tickets. (See picture) Firstly, my Mum told me #6 (Fiorente) was her lucky number. That was good. But the clincher was when I saw your Melbourne Cup advice on the morning of the race. You wrote Fiorente was your #1 pick. Knowing this came after your hours and hours of research. I backed FIORENTE. Yippee!"

"You said a couple of years ago that there's nothing like holding winning Melbourne Cup tickets and yesterday this stood true again. While I don't ever bet large, the winnings were enough to take my girl out last night and enjoy dinner, cocktails and champagne. Thanks again Max."
