The price for a one-day Walt Disney World theme park ticket topped out at over $87 in early 2011. Since Disney has never offered a price decrease, it has become more important than ever for visitors to get the best discounts they can find on Disney tickets. Fortunately, there are many avenues to save some money on single and multiday tickets for Disney's Florida theme parks.

Step 1

Go online and search for companies carrying a "Disney Parks USA Selected Ticket Seller" logo; Disney sells them tickets in bulk for resale at a discount. Compare the tickets you want -- such as the number of days, park hopper option or water park option -- to the official prices on the Disney World website to be sure you're saving money.

Step 2

Subscribe to MouseSavers newsletter for the latest updates on discounts and tips. Check the newsletter for members-only offers; for example, MouseSavers subscribers get additional savings on tickets at Undercover Tourist, an official reseller described in step 1.

Step 3

Consider an Annual Pass if you plan to visit several times over the course of a year. Annual passes include free parking, dining discounts and occasional resort room discounts, which might save you a lot on your overall vacation budget.

Step 4

Invest in the Disney Vacation Club timeshare program. Buy member-only discounted tickets by calling DVC Member Services or going to the Disney Vacation Club website.

Step 5

Contact any Disney Cast Members (employees) you may know, since they can get a certain number of discounted tickets per year. Make sure the "CM" meets you at the park when you want to use the tickets, since they have to sign off on the tickets before you can have them.

Step 6

Check with your auto club for ticket specials. Sign up for a membership if you don't have one, provided you can at least break even with the savings on the tickets; then it's like getting towing and other amenities for free.

Step 7

Attend a timeshare presentation for an Orlando resort that offers a free Disney ticket as an incentive. Expect to spend the better part of a day for the tour, though. Don't use this option if you can't spare that much time.

Step 8

Find out if your corporation offers ticket discounts to its employees. Ask your human resources department for this information.

Go to Disney World with an active or retired member of the U.S. Armed Forces or a Department of Defense civilian employee. Have them purchase discounted passes through their military base, at the Magic Kingdom ticket kiosks or at Shades of Green, the DoD-run resort on Disney property. Make sure the military member or employee is with you to present ID.

Visit the Magic Kingdom during separate admission events like Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. Enter the park at 4 p.m. three hours before the event begins; Disney allows this, and you can stay until midnight for about $30 less than a one-day ticket.
