Working as an RN, or registered nurse. will enable you to work in a variety of medical settings, such as clinics, hospitals and private practices. It is required that you complete post secondary schooling in order to become an RN. There are a variety of courses that you can take that will offer you certification.


Step One: First off, you will need to figure out where you would like to receive certification for registered nursing. You can attend a nursing school, community college or a university to obtain a four year degree. You can obtain a degree in either two or four years, depending on whether you would like to receive an associate's degree or bachelor's degree.

Step Two: Once you have found the school that you would like to train as a registered nurse, you will need to make sure that it is accredited. Nothing is worse than receiving a certificate from a school that isn't viable in the working world. In order to enter

into school, you will need to have your transcripts readily available. Any volunteer work you have done at hospitals will also have to be recorded and available for proof.

Step Three: Once you enter into school, you can begin studying and pass your courses. Some of the subjects that you will be learning about will include biology, physiology, chemistry and statistics.

Step Four: Next, you need to complete the courses you have taken up. You will receive clinical education that will help you get ready for working in this field as a registered nurse.

Step 5: Last, you need to pass your certification exam. Once you do this, you will obtain a certificate to work as an RN. The exam is on a pass or fail basis, so it is important that you study hard beforehand.
