30981QLD Certificate II in Workplace Practices the Australian Skills Quality Authority has approved an amendment to update the following superseded training package unit of competency with the current, equivalent version of the unit from within the endorsed BSB07 Business Services Training Package:

All registered training organisations delivering 30981QLD Certificate II in Workplace Practices should ensure that they use the amended course now available on this website.

Certificate I in Work Education

Certificate I in Work Education is a course of study which prepares students for a first experience in the workplace. The course will assist young people to gain generic employability skills required by industry of an entry-level employee.

The core learnings comprise a study in:
- developing career and learning development plan
- applying an enterprising approach in a team project
- self esteem and self image
- following fundamental occupational health and safety principles and procedures
- job search and interview skills
- basic knowledge of industrial and workplace relations
- structured work-placement.
Certificate I in Work Education may be appropriately offered in the upper middle school as well as to post compulsory aged students.
Certificate I in Work Readiness

Certificate I in Work Readiness enables Registered Training Organisations to implement individualised educational programs for learners who lack basic work readiness skills. This training product facilitates access to entry-level training by students with special needs, including students with disabilities or with low written literacy and numeracy skills. The course incorporates opportunities
for students to gain generic employability skills. The knowledge and skills acquired comprise generic industry competency requirements identified by employers as the base-line entry-level point for positions requiring limited technical competence to complete routine tasks under direct supervision.

Certificate II in Workplace Practices
Course code: 30981QLD
Certificate II in Workplace Practices is designed to give students the knowledge and skills they will need to 'hit the ground running' and to make a positive impression when they first enter employment.
The model on which Certificate II in Workplace Practices was developed, involved pre-work placement, work placement and post-work placement.
To assist the effective implementation of the structured work placement, a Student Log Book has been developed and is included as a non-endorsed component of Certificate II in Workplace Practices:
The three Work Education Certificate courses were first developed for Education Queensland, the Association of Independent Schools Queensland Inc. and the Queensland Catholic Education Commission with the assistance of funding provided by the Commonwealth Government through ANTA and DETYA. They were accredited as training products under the Australian Recognition Framework in 1999. Extensions of accreditation were granted to 31 December 2006. Following a review in 2005, the three courses were updated in 2006 and reaccredited, for the period 13 September 2006 to 13 September 2011.
The courses were reaccredited in 2011 by the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) as the delegate for the Queensland Training and Employment Recognition Council. Accreditation for the Certificate I courses is valid from 13 September 2011 until 31 December 2013 and the Certificate II in Workplace Practices is registered from 29 November 2011 to 28 November 2016.

The Queensland Studies Authority (QSA), as a delegate of the Training and Employment Recognition Council (TERC), registers schools to deliver and assess VET for students in Years 10, 11 and 12 in Certificates I-IV in non-apprenticeship qualifications. Visit the QSA website
