We have found AMEX to be extremely reputable so see no reason why the rental insurance would not be the same. I had purchased a $500 coffee roaster for dh and it went kaput after the maunfacturer's warranty ended. Through AMEX's extended warranty, Purchase Protected Plan, AMEX simply asked us to ship them the item and they issued a check for the full value not even prorating it for the years use it had had.Source: www.tripadvisor.com
