Back the Blue

Gov. Mary Fallin, legislators and law enforcement supporters are hosting a "Back the Blue" rally at 6:00 p.m. Monday, Oct. 12, on the south steps of the Capitol building. The purpose is to offer support and thanks to law enforcement. All active and retired officers are encouraged to attend. The public is invited to join the rally, dressed in blue, to show support and appreciation. Speakers will include Gov. Fallin, legislators and law enforcement leaders.


NOTICE: Oklahomans who use their state-issued ID cards or driver licenses as a form of identification need to be aware that, in the very near future, these forms of ID may not be accepted by federal agencies for official purposes, such as gaining access to federal facilities, access to military installations, or boarding federally regulated commercial aircraft.

All CDL applicants, whether initial issuance, transfer, renewal, upgrade, or duplicate, must provide proof of citizenship or lawful permanent residency and proof of Oklahoma residency specified in 383.71 (a)(2)(v). CDL applicants will be required to bring 1 document from the U.S. Citizenship list and 1 document from the Oklahoma Residency (Domiciled) list. The document must show the applicants name and current address. A post office box is not acceptable.

  • Valid, unexpired Permanent Resident Card, issued by USCIS or INS

Acceptable Residency List

  • Copy of federal or Oklahoma income tax return filing not more than eighteen months old.
  • Current and valid life insurance, or automobile liability policy or card with address.
  • Installment loan contract from a bank or other financial institution. Payday loan companies are not acceptable.
  • Current Deed, mortgage, monthly mortgage statement or a residential lease.
  • Current homeowners' or renters' insurance policy or statement.
  • Oklahoma hunting or fishing license, current or previous year.
  • Professional license issued by an Oklahoma governmental agency
  • Property tax bill or receipt
  • Sales tax or business license
  • Selective Service registration acknowledgment card.
  • Social Security Administration document with Oklahoma street address
  • Transportation Security Administration (TSA) letter
  • Utility bill (from an electric, telephone, water, sewer, cable, satellite, heating oil, or propane provider) issued within the last sixty days.
  • Valid concealed weapons permit.
  • Certified copy of court order- Must contain the full name and date of birth

    of the applicant.

DPS Launches Online Individual MVR Application

On March 26, 2015, DPS launched a new online system that serves as a one stop shop for individual driving history records. The new online MVR application will allow users to purchase their own MVR from the convenience of their home computer or mobile device.

Users simply enter requested information and will then have the option to print off the MVR immediately or have a temporary link sent to a personal email address where they can reprint the record for up to 30 days. All individual MVR (non-certified and certified copies) fees are: MVR-$25.00, certified fee-$3.00 (if requested) and $2.50 application fee.

Congratulations to the Graduating Class of the 63rd OHP Academy

OKLAHOMA CITY - Department of Public Safety officials announce the graduation of the 63nd Oklahoma Highway Patrol Academy.

Graduation and commissioning ceremonies for forty-one new Oklahoma Highway Patrol Troopers will be held Friday, June 19, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at the Memorial Road Church of Christ located at 2221 E. Memorial Road in Edmond.

"We congratulate all of these new troopers on their hard work and dedication," said DPS Commissioner Michael C. Thompson.

OHP Chief, Colonel Ricky Adams said, "These young men have shown that they have what it takes to earn the title Oklahoma State Trooper, and we welcome them to our family."

The next phase of training for the graduates of the 63rd OHP Academy will consist of three months of field training with a senior trooper.

The forty-one cadets come to the Patrol from all over the state with a variety of work experiences. Their ages range from 21 to 40.

Commissioner Thompson challenged the graduating class to uphold the traditions and proud legacy of Troopers who have served Oklahoma since 1937.
