How to cook steak tips on the stove
Best Answer: Here are some basics to go by that I use. U also like garlic salt and/or seasoning salt on my steak. My absolute favorite seasonsing is the Santa Barbara seasoning you get at Bristol Farms, it is amazing!
When buying a steak select a nice sized rib-eye steak. Rib-eyes are a tender, flavorful cut of meat. Select a piece that is about 1 pound, and around one to one and a half inchs thick.
Take your steak and sprinkle a light coat of sea salt on it. Rub the sea salt into the meat. Apply the sea salt to both sides of the steak. around 1 teaspoon should cover both sides of a 1 pound steak.
Put 1 tsp of minced garlic on your steak and rub the garlic into both sides.
Pre-heat your oven to 450 degrees.
Heat your frying pan on high heat. When the pan is hot (not still warming up), place the steak directly into the middle of the pan. Leave the steak in the pan for
2 minutes. Flip the steak and leave for another 2 minutes.
After searing the steak on both sides, remove the steak from the frying pan and turn off the stove. Place your steak onto a sheet of aluminum foil wrapped over a baking sheet (this will prevent your sheet from getting dirty).
Place your baking sheet (with the steak) into the oven for 7 minutes. Flip the steak and put back into the oven for another 7 minutes.
After cooking the steak in the oven, remove the baking sheet from the oven and use the meat thermometer to check the temperature of the steak. You want your meat to be between 129 - 135 degrees F. If the temperature is too low, place your steak back into the oven until the temperature is good.
After removing your steak from the oven, place into a covered pot for 10 minutes before serving; allowing your steak to rest. Temperature may continue to rise a few degrees after removing from the oven.
After "resting" serve your steak.Source: answers.yahoo.com
