    This site is very helpful to central excise and service tax payers as e-filing of service tax return (ST3) and Central Excise Return (ER 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8) is mandatory with effect from 1 October, 2011.

    Procedure to fill Central Excise and Service Tax e-return

    • Log in to
  • Click on Central Excise or Service tax, as per your requirement.
  • If you already registered with Automation of Central Excise and Service tax (ACES) then fill in the user name and password and press 'Logon' button, else create a new account by clicking on 'Click here' button just under 'Logon'


  • Select your return under RET menu and deposit self accessed return online.
  • If you are not registered under ACES, then provide e-mail id of authorized person to your range officer.
  • You will receive an email containing Temporary user if (T-pin) and password. Use this T-pin and password to register yourself in ACES. If you don't find an email in your inbox, then check your spam folder or contact range officer.
  • Now you can login in the site and e-file your return with the provided details.
  • Alternatively, you can also use Download button on the website to download the required form and fill return offline. Fill up the form and upload it on the website.
