How To Do Nail Whitening

  • Dissolve a denture tablet in water, and soak your fingernails for several min, repeat this process daily until your discolored nails are back to normal.
  • Lemon juice is an oldie but a goodie. Cut a fresh lemon in half, squeeze the juice into a small bowl and soak in the juice for a few minutes, can also add a small amount of water.

    Do this daily until normal color returns.

  • A good way to whiten fingernails without drying out your cuticles, is to soak your nails

    in lemon essential oil, for about 15 minutes once a day.

  • Give your fingernails a light buff, with a fingernail buffer. this may help, if not, it will give them a lovely shine at least.

    Don't over do the buffing if they are still discolored, as too much buffing will thin your fingernails.

  • You can buy whitening pencils, which you will find in any nail section. Use these to whiten the tips of the fingernails, not the whole nail.

  • Put 1 tablespoon 3% hydrogen peroxide and equal amount of water (important to always use water), in a small bowl and soak your discolored nails in it for a few min. You may be able to buy this from a chemist or online.

    You can also mix 1 tablespoon 3% hydrogen peroxide with 2 1/2 tablespoons of baking soda.

  • Brush your fingernails with a toothbrush and whitening toothpaste. This is an easy one to do.

  • Peel a small piece of garlic, and rub over your nails.

  • Combine baking soda and lemon juice together to form a paste, and rub over nails.
  • Remember, these nail whitening tips are only good, if your discolored fingernails are due to a superficial reason.
