10 Hacks and Tips On How To Curl Your Hair Without A Wand Or Iron

Tuesday, April 1, 2014 by Jessica Booth

Honestly, I don’t know where I would be with my curling wand (I use this Nume one – it’s amazing). I have naturally wavy hair, and my curling wand always gives me perfect curls. But even though I sing the praises of this wand to anyone who will listen, I have to admit that it takes up a decent amount of my time when I’m getting ready in the morning. It’s really easy to use, but I have a lot of hair, so it takes a while to get the job done.

If you feel the same way, or if you just don’t know how to use a curling wand or iron, don’t worry – thanks to Pinterest. there are plenty of ways to curl your hair without using a hot tool. These techniques will generally work better with hair that has a little bit of a natural wave to it, but some of them will also work with straight hair. Want curly hair overnight with minimal effort? Try these 10 hacks and tips on how to curl your hair without a wand or iron:

Try SoCal Curls for perfect headband curls.

I recently got a SoCal Curl headband, and I’m officially obsessed with it. You pop it in the microwave for 30 seconds, then wrap slightly damp hair around it (I let mine air-dry for about a half hour first, if your hair is too wet, you can ruin the tie), sleep on it, and wake up with curly hair! You don’t even have to do it overnight – it can also work in as little as 30 minutes. It’s so easy, fast, and actually works – our intern Ashley even told me I had mermaid hair today. You can buy these and get more info on them here .

Twist your hair into sections for easy curls or waves.

I do this every time I get out of the shower. It’s such an easy way to get a natural wave going on. Source .

Use soft rollers for overnight curls.

Try pin-curls. These are delicate and if you have a lot of hair, they might take a while, but they definitely give you overnight curls.
